India-Pak Conflict : Indian Army to Issue Statement, Explosions Intensify in Jammu
The India-Pakistan conflict has reached a critical phase, with explosions intensifying in Jammu on May 10, 2025, particularly in Samba, Akhnoor, and Satwari, amid relentless cross-border aggression following India’s Operation Sindoor. The Indian Army, maintaining a fortified stance, is set to release an official statement to address the escalating crisis, as tensions grip the region.

Surge in Jammu Explosions
Jammu has become a focal point of the conflict, with loud blasts reported near the airport, military installations, and civilian areas. Pakistan’s heavy artillery shelling and drone incursions, launched in retaliation for India’s missile strikes on Islamabad’s airbases, have triggered air raid sirens and blackouts across the city. Posts on X describe panic in neighborhoods like Gandhi Nagar, with three explosions in Samba alone damaging homes. The Indian Army’s rapid response, including counterstrikes on Pakistani posts in Poonch, has contained threats, but the situation remains volatile, with 18 civilian injuries reported.

Army’s Imminent Statement
The Indian Army, under the leadership of General Upendra Dwivedi, is preparing to issue a statement clarifying its operational strategy and the extent of Pakistan’s provocations. Sources indicate the statement will detail India’s successful neutralization of over 60 Pakistani drones and missiles, leveraging the S-400 system, and outline measures to protect Jammu’s residents. The announcement, expected by late May 10, follows Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s high-level meeting with military chiefs, signaling a coordinated response to Pakistan’s actions.

Civilian Safety Measures
Jammu’s administration has evacuated over 5,000 residents from border villages, with schools and colleges closed indefinitely. The Border Security Force (BSF) has intensified patrols, and temporary shelters are housing displaced families. Public advisories urge citizens to avoid open areas and report suspicious objects, fostering community resilience amid the crisis.

Regional and Global Context
Pakistan’s refusal to de-escalate, despite India’s precise strikes on its airbases, has drawn condemnation from the US and UAE. As India fortifies its 3,323-km border, the Army’s forthcoming statement will likely reaffirm its commitment to national security while navigating international pressure for peace. Jammu’s residents, though shaken, stand united, awaiting clarity from the military.
